Seeing the Doctor
Consultations are by appointment during the following
hours:
Mornings
Monday to Friday 8.30am - 11.30am
Evenings
Monday to Friday 3.30pm - 6.00pm
Except on the 4th Wednesday of each month when the practice closes
at 12.00 noon for training.
Urgent Appointments
If you have an urgent problem every effort will be made for you to
be seen on the same day. Please ring from 8.00am but
it may not be possible for you to see the doctor of your choice and you
may have to wait. The earlier you make your request for an
appointment the easier it is to fit you in!
Cancellations
If you are unable to keep your booked appointment it is necessary to
inform the practice of cancellation. Your appointment can then be
allocated to another patient.
Home Visits
If you are too ill or too disabled to attend surgery you may request a
home visit. Please request these before 10.00am. You will be
phoned by our Nurse Practitioner or one of the doctors to assess the
urgency and appropriateness of your request. (Home visits take
three times as long as surgery consultations). Please do not ring
before 8.30am. It will not enable you to be seen any earlier and will only delay the
doctors in their efforts to get to work. We do not usually visit
after evening surgery because of safety concerns. If you request a
late visit the doctor on call will ring you back to discuss your
condition.
Telephone Consultations - GPs, Nurse Practitioner
and Nurses
Please note that there are a number of telephone appointments
available after morning surgery. To book one of these
consultations please telephone reception and the medical professional
will ring you back around midday.
